Allowing Yourself A Break

Brief words of wisdom by Amy Temple ©

As adults we have many responsibilities. We go to work, clean the house, cook meals, do the laundry. We have to do a whole wide range of errands. We gotta do this, gotta do that. It goes on and on. You think you can take a break but something else comes up. You practically wear yourself out! I'm guilty of this. I have told myself "I gotta get that done." No matter how bad I want to just rest for a bit, I force myself to do something. Here's the thing... what do we absolutely have to do that requires us to always be doing something?

The answer is nothing. There isn't one thing in our lives that we absolutely must do! We must allow ourselves the chance to take breaks. The world is not going to end if we decide to not do something or if we allow somebody else to do the thing we had planned to do. We are all capable of doing things and we must work... but we have to let ourselves just rest.

Don't allow anyone to make you feel bad for taking breaks. Doing so is actually going to make your lives easier. It's going to make it better. And who isn't up for that?
